Our Story

We do not sell furniture. We share art, heritage and history.

For more than thirty years, Indian Home Art has brought the craftsmanship of India into the homes of Kuwait — with deep respect for the hands that make each piece and heartfelt gratitude for the families who welcome it.

Our legacy

A legacy of more than thirty years

More than thirty years ago, a simple belief guided our first steps: that every home deserves pieces with a soul. Since then, we have had the honour of furnishing homes and hearts across the State of Kuwait, the United States of America, the State of Qatar and the Republic of India.

Our philosophy

Art, not furniture

Every piece that enters our showrooms carries a story. It begins as timber in the workshops of India, where master craftsmen shape it by hand with chisel and mallet; many of them continue the trade of their fathers and grandfathers. Every carved flower, every brass stud and every inlaid panel holds hours of patience and generations of knowledge. When you welcome one of our pieces into your home, you are not acquiring an object — you become the keeper of a tradition.

Kuwait and India

A friendship across the sea

The bond between Kuwait and India is older than any piece we offer, and we are humbled to stand within it.

  1. For generations

    The age of the dhow

For generations, Kuwaiti dhows sailed to the western coast of India laden with pearls and dates, and returned with spices, textiles and timber. Indian teak became part of Kuwait's own seafaring heritage, shaping the very vessels that made Kuwait a proud trading nation.

  2. Until 1961

    A shared currency

Until 1961, the Indian rupee — and later the Gulf rupee, issued by India especially for the region — was the everyday currency of Kuwait. For decades, Kuwaiti merchants and families counted their trade in rupees: a quiet testament to how closely our two peoples lived, worked and prospered together.

  3. 1961

Friends from the very first day

When the State of Kuwait proclaimed its independence in 1961, India was among the first nations to establish diplomatic relations with it, and this friendship has grown warmer with every passing year.

  4. Today

    Today

Today, the Indian community is one of the largest in Kuwait, and our two nations remain bound by trade, culture and mutual respect. Indian Home Art is but one small thread in this long and beautiful fabric, and we cherish it with all our hearts.
